Being one of the world’s largest museums for modern and contemporary art and design, we made sure to find time to visit the Pinakothek der Moderne while we were in Munich. A pleasant surprise to us, the museum is a great choice for budget travelers every day of the week, especially Sundays when cost of admission is only 1 euro. But don’t let the affordability delude you – the collections and exhibitions housed within these walls are world-class. Here are some photographs of our favorites: A gallery wall with various mounted objects and pieces of furniture, and modern rocking chairs for visitors to sit in and absorb the artistry before them.
An automobile exhibition with a few vintage cars and a wall of silvery Audi replicas.
A Frank Lloyd Wright chair (circa 1903).
An Eames Molded Plywood Lounge chair.
Classic Braun radios and phonosupers.
Thank you Die Pinakotheken, we will be back one day.
