Remember when we said that we had something special in the works when we posted this photo a few weeks ago? Well, as life would have it, we’re still working on that little project, and we’ve decided to do a two-part post so we can share what is in the works now and once it’s complete!
To set the stage… We got married on New Year’s Eve of 2015, and we moved into our place and have been here ever since. We feel like we really found a home in our little 1-bedroom apartment in our favorite area of Phoenix. We regularly chat with a couple of our neighbors, we’ve walked or rode bikes to several of the coffee shops and restaurants in the area, and we’ve enjoyed sharing our home with friends and family.
We’ve had so much fun collecting and curating a space for just us that’s personal, functional, and catered to our needs and tastes. So many memories are attached to different spaces or even items in our home, and to say it’s been a joy living here is simply an understatement. We love spending time together talking about past memories, current happenings, and our future hopes and dreams in our space. We feel like it’s such a welcoming place that ignites our creativity while allowing us to relax and wind down at the end of our days.
All of this love we have for our home brought us to the idea of creating a book, a keepsake, filled with pictures of this space. While we are so happy and content now, we know that one day, we will move on to something just as or even more perfect. But we always want to remember this space, our first home together. We want to be able to capture the living areas, lighting, knick-knacks, textiles, and more that were and are the backdrop for many wonderful memories. Our life.
Before we set out to create this keepsake, we didn’t realize how many photos we would want to capture of our smaller space. But we are enjoying the process, and we don’t want to rush it. So stay tuned for the finished product. In the meantime, we hope you feel inspired to capture and collect photographs of something special to you.
